The unit will include 8 beds, and the ability to treat up to 15 individuals at any given time, with the addition of partial hospitalization services. Our inpatient services provide 24-hour eating disorders care with no minimum length of stay, while partial hospitalization services are available up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. The unit includes treatment planning and daily assessment, medical stability monitored by an internal medicine physician, meal plan construction and monitoring by a Registered Dietitian, individual, family, group and expressive therapy. The unit features a dedicated eating disorders team with the ability to provide multiple levels of care. With a kitchen located on the eating disorders unit, the team is able to introduce patients to high-anxiety, real-life situations such as cooking and eating their own meals. Registered Nurse responsibilities: The Psychiatric RN manages the nursing care of patients in the Eating Disorders Unit in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The RN is responsible for all aspects of care of the patients who are receiving inpatient/outpatient services on the Eating Disorders Unit. This is a full-time 36-hour per week position with rotating days, nights and weekend coverage. The tasks and responsibilities include: Performs initial and on-going physical and psychosocial assessment according to accepted standards of nursing practice.Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs. Carries out physician orders.Administers prescribed medications & monitors vital signs.Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.Implements nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.Evaluates patient's response to interventions and revises nursing plan of care as needed.
